In human history there has been a continuous and growing impulse toward the regeneration and transformation of humanity. --Barbara Marx Hubbard.
Senseless acts of violence like the shootings in Connecticut paint a picture of the worst of human nature. There are so many emotions that run through us in the face of this tragedy…horror, sympathy, and perhaps even a sense of hopelessness. Yet, what if we choose to see this event as an opportunity to continue our efforts towards transformation. It is obvious that the need is still there. Each one of can do our part, whether it be large or small. How can we help? Here is a simple Guided Imagery exercise you can use. Breathe into your heart. Feel it opening to the Light. Sit quietly until an Image emerges in your mind. Converse with the Image and you will find an answer.
With Hope for Humanity, Tamara ps: Visit my Intuitive Guided Imagery page on this website to find out more about how you can use Guided Imagery to transform challenges!
I recently sent out my monthly Words of Wisdom coaching tips/quotes e-mail to the wonderful people who have signed up to be part of my list. In it, I describe a process designed to help people be open to Divine Guidance and Flow. Click on the Contact page of this website if you want me to send you the e-mail. The purpose of this blog is to show you one way to create your own Sacred Bowl. Please see the paragraphs below for illustrated instructions, or let your creativity guide you in developing your own process. Many Blessings! Tamara Herl Inner Wisdom Coaching 719-221-0548 www.tamaraherl.com www.BecomeYourOwnGuru.com Find a bowl with a shape you like. Cover the outside of it with aluminum foil. Mix tacky glue with water until it's the consistency of melted ice cream. Cover the surface of the foil with glue, and then with tissue paper. I tore my paper to create soft edges. Use tissue paper that "bleeds" (available through art supply catalogs) if you want the colors to blend together. The colors will look milky until the glue dries. Let the glue dry completely, and then remove the tissue-covered aluminum bowl from the mold.
Next, place your tissue bowl INSIDE of the bowl form. Repeat the same process of coating with glue & covering with tissue. Enjoy your beautiful, one-of-a-kind bowl! I think the aluminum foil makes it look as if Light is shining through.
Sometimes the seeds we plant sprout later than we expect, or even seem to disappear, only to surprise us by sprouting someplace else entirely. Have you ever invested time or energy towards trying to make something that is important to you happen, only to find the end results disappointing? It has happened to me many times. And in the past, I would often sink into a state of discouragement that lasted several hours, or even a couple of days. The problem with this, is that when we are in this state of disappointment or dispair, we miss out on many wonderful opportunities. And, haven't you noticed that we impact those around us with our gloomy state of being? What is helping me bounce back more quickly is remembering my belief that there is a Power greater than us that can see a picture bigger that is bigger than what we see. When something doesn't work out the way I had hoped, I try to have Faith that the Greater Power is at work, finding the perfect time and place for my Seed to Sprout and Grow! What helps you hold on to Hope? When have your seeds sprouted in unexpected ways that renewed your Hope? To help us all Plant and Hold on to Seeds of Hope, I am hosting a Virtual telegathering in honor of the Spring Equinox. We'll be sharing stories about people and things that have inspired hope in our lives. Contact me for dial-up information If you can't join us, I hope you will find other ways to plant your Seeds of Hope. Many Blessings! Tamara Herl Inner Wisdom Coaching 719-221-0548 www.tamaraherl.com
Last night as part of our Solstice Celebration, we made time for meditation. I had set an intention to receive Guidance about the coming year.
As I sat in the richness of the deep silence, I saw myself standing at a portal looking out. A thought came to me: Changes will be happening very quickly. Stand at the portal and look out. At first, I wasn't sure what that meant. However, I've learned that my Guidance often comes in bits and pieces, so I wasn't too concerned.
The next part of the celebration involved decorating a glass candle container to represent the Wisdom we received during the meditation. I felt drawn to depict the top of the glass container as the portal opening, and to picture myself looking into the Light of the candle.
The final part of our ceremony involved walking a spiral path towards a lit candle, where each person's intentions were illuminated. As I sat for a few moments in the center of the Spiral, it came to me that, rather than looking into the Light, it would be far more powerful for me to Stand at the Portal and BE THE LIGHT!
What are you being called to Do or BE in 2012?
Spend some time in Silence. Stand at the Portal...and wait for Your Guidance.
And....if you need help Finding your Portal, please join me for "Internal Design" starting in January. See the upcoming events page for details.
Many Blessings, Tamara
Did you know that the original meaning of the word “holidays” was “holy days?” The silence of winter presents the perfect opportunity to revision the sacred tapestry of your life and goals.
If you live in the Salida area, please join me Wednesday, December 21st at 7:00 p.m. for a simple ceremony designed to strengthen the Light within our hearts and minds. Together, we will engage in a Spiral Walk as we call upon the Creative Artist within to lift ourselves and humanity towards the highest potential.
Each participant needs to bring a votive candle in a clear glass container that is taller than the candle. After a brief opening, we will spend time welcoming the peace that can come from silence. In that space, we will engage in self-evaluation and visioning our path ahead. Participants will be invited to decorate the outside of their candle container to symbolize an intention and then walk to the center of the spiral, where their intention will be illuminated.
Following the ceremony, we will share a simple feast of finger foods provided by participants.
Please rsvp to let me know whether or not you will be able to join us.
For those of you who don’t reside near Salida, consider hosting your own ceremony. I did this several years ago, and it was a powerful experience!
And…may your Holydays be Magical and Blessed!
Sincerely, Tamara
Words of Wisdom…. Bee-ing the Impossible
After a whirlwind of moving furniture and creating space in my new office, I finally found time to sit and relax. There are 8 spaces where I could have chosen to sit, and the place I picked was my comfy couch. As I looked down before taking my seat, I noticed a bumblebee on the floor. Because I believe there are synchronicities in even the smallest of occurrences, I took this as a message from the Universe. I remembered I had read somewhere that, in terms of aerodynamics, because of the way its body is designed, it should be impossible for a bumblebee to fly. Yet, we see them flying every summer. How can that be so? Perhaps it is because the bumblebee does not KNOW or does not PAY ATTENTION to what others say it can or cannot do. It simply does what it was born to do. What if each one of us were to apply this same principle to our own life? What if we pay no heed to those around us who doubt that we can accomplish what we are born to do? If there is something your heart longs for, yet what you desire seems impossible or out of reach, try asking yourself the following questions: 1. Who would I have to beecome in order to accomplish this?
2. What would I have to beelieve?

The Spider's Gift I am finding myself spending as much time as possible outdoors these days, knowing that the warm weather won’t last much longer. As I stepped outside on our deck yesterday, I noticed a small spider, seemingly floating in midair. Upon closer examination, I realized it was suspended by a single strand of web. Our deck stands about 8 feet above the ground, and the height at which the spider hung suspended seemed to be another 5 foot higher than that. As I continued to gaze upward, I discovered that the web was connected to an overhead electrical wire several feet above the spider.
“How could a creature so small leap from such a great height,” I wondered? Was it courage that enabled the spider to do this…or, perhaps faith? Neither of those words seemed appropriate. As I continued to ponder, further observation of the spider provided the answer I sought. As a gentle breeze blew the suspended spider back and forth, I realized that, bit by bit, the creature spun just enough web to move itself downward towards its destination. It wasn’t courage or faith that propelled the spider forward, but rather, I guessed, an Inner Knowing that it had the resources it needed to make the journey.
Does this story speak to some aspect of your life? Or, might the Spider’s Inner Knowing be a gift to someone you know who has an important decision to make or step to take, yet is holding back? Or, perhaps you know someone who is extremely gifted or talented in a way that is obvious to you & others, yet seems to be reluctant to use/share their gift.
I believe each one of us has or can access the resources we need, and I love helping others discover how to spin strands that help them move forward on the web of life. Are you ready to accept the Spider's Gift?
